BookLogix is pleased to announce the winner of its contest for Black Writers Weekend 2023 is Alida Davis-Abdullah. Her book, Skoolz R Dumb, has won a full publishing prize package from BookLogix. In Skoolz R Dumb, Alida challenges the education system using her experience as an
educator, parent, and reform advocate. Her book strives to draw attention to the education system’s flaws while inspiring a transformation that values curiosity, inspiration, and knowledge. “Skoolz R Dumb doesn’t just emphasize the problems, it offers empowering solutions that inspire reform,” Alida says. “Winning this contest is a dream come true, and I can’t wait to share my book with not only educators and policymakers, but also parents who are invested in ensuring their kids are getting the best education possible.”

Skoolz R Dumb was selected by BookLogix’s team as the winning book following its sponsorship of Black Writers Weekend 2023. “We were really moved by Alida’s passion to enact change in our country’s education system
